Todd Chrisley Credits His Post-Prison ‘BOP Glow’ to ‘Residual Botox That Never Wore Off’
The reality television star talked about his “BOP glow” — aka his “Bureau of Prisons glow” — during a press conference following his release from prison in Florida

The Chrisley Knows Best star and his wife, Julie Chrisley, were released from prison on Wednesday, May 28, on a pardon from President Donald Trump. The married couple entered prison in January 2023 after being convicted of tax evasion and bank fraud, and were originally sentenced to a combined 19 years behind bars.

Todd was released from Federal Prison Camp Pensacola, Fla., and daughter Savannah Chrisley picked him up; Julie was picked up from Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Ky., by son Grayson Chrisley.

Following Todd and Julie’s release, the family patriarch held a press conference on Friday, May 30, at the Kimpton Aertson Hotel in Nashville, Tenn., alongside Savannah — and revealed that being in prison contributed to his new look.

“Todd, the fans have been really talking about your physical transformation,” a reporter said to the reality television star.

“Yeah, I call it the BOP glow,” Todd replied, a shorthand for “Bureau of Prisons.”

The 56-year-old then gave insight into his prison transformation and revealed how he plans to maintain his look and improved fitness now that he has been released.

“I’ll actually have more access to better products now that I’m out,” he told the reporter. “I think that I had nothing to do other than to read and to work out. And so I worked out every morning at 10:45 until 12:00 with my buddies there.”

Todd also explained that he maintained his mental wellness by working on his spirituality and keeping in contact with his kids and wife.

He added, “I read, and my walk with Christ became deeper. And I talked to my daughter every day, to Chase, to Grayson. And then I was able to email with Julie every day. And so I think that for me, I haven’t had the same effects that so many people leaving the prison system have had.”

Todd also said that his appearance might be from the work he did before entering prison, joking, “maybe it’s just all the residual Botox that never wore off.”

Savannah shared the first video of Todd following his release to her Instagram on Thursday, May 29. In the clip, Todd joked about his post-prison glow before the press conference while out shopping at Nordstrom for an outfit.

“I’ve been out for 12 hours and I’m shopping,” he told the camera as his daughter recorded him wearing sunglasses and a Nordstrom paper bag over his head.

“He looks like he hasn’t aged a day,” Savannah said, to which Todd replied, it’s his “BOP glow.”

Elsewhere in the May 30 press conference, Todd explained how it feels to be back home and reunited with his family.

“I woke up the first morning and I was looking around, I’m like, this is really real. I’m home,” he said. “So I was grateful for our family to be all back in the same room, to be together, to share a meal together, to pray together, and to know that we’re still in the fight together.”
