After beginning their romance on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9, Nathan and Gael dropped not one, not two, but three major relationship updates. The yachties called it quits several months after the charter season ended, reconciled in 2024, and welcomed their first child — an adorable son named Kayden — back in June.
Those developments played out before the Below Deck Med Season 10 premiere, which showed Nathan’s flirty exchange with second stewardess Kizzi Kitchener and his “cheeky” bedtime call with Gael, who did not return for the charter season. The incidents led some to wonder if Nathan was being unfaithful to Gael; however, Aesha reminded viewers that the season was filmed during the couple’s brief split.

“For the record, he never cheated on Gael,” Aesha declared during a recent sitdown with Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea. “When he came on, I think [he and Gael] would message every now and then… I think he was of the mind that he didn’t think anything was going to happen with [Gael]. He’s a single guy; there are hot girls on the boat; he’s more than welcome to have a pash here and there.”
(For those who aren’t hip to New Zealand slang, “pash” is another word for making out.)
As seen in the Season 10 trailer, Gael had an emotional reunion with Nathan when she visited the Bravado superyacht. The couple confirmed they were back together in September 2024, just months before announcing their baby No. 1 news.

“It was, honestly, the most wonderful reunion,” Aesha said about Gael and Nathan. “And seeing them now, so stable and so solid and so in love, it just makes me so happy. It was really beautiful.
Aesha then shared a sweet conversation she had with Nathan toward the end of the charter season.
“He’s like, ‘I’ve just been thinking about it so much and I realize she is the one. She’s the love of my life, and I really regret how things worked out,’” she recalled before expressing disbelief over their family addition. “A whole baby! That’s what I love about life. Life can just change in an instant. You don’t know where you’re going to be in a year’s time.”
