Kate Chastain Reveals New Looks at Her “Historic, Beautiful” New House (EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS)
The former Below Deck chief stew is so excited to raise her toddler son in her new forever “dream” house in Florida.
Kate Chastain has finally moved into her “perfect” forever house and she could not be any more excited about it. The Below Deck alum first revealed earlier this month that she had moved into a new house in Florida with her son, Sullivan Cay. And now she’s sharing even more exclusive details and photos in an interview with The Daily Dish.
Kate moved out of her craftsman bungalow in Fort Lauderdale and into a “historic, beautiful home,” closer to her family, who also live in Florida. Her cousins are a golf cart drive away and her best friend lives directly next door with her three children. But having “built-in babysitters” isn’t the only reason why Kate loves her “hundred-year-old home.” She loves it for its character.
“I think what makes this house special is I’m not a person who likes modern interior design. Like [Below Deck alum] Ben Robinson, for example, loves modern. I feel like it’s cold and too perfect,” she explained in a phone interview with The Daily Dish. “I like something with a little personality, a little imperfections. [It] makes it interesting and beautiful. I’m just really happy.”

Luckily Kate doesn’t need to do too many renovations to the home as the previous owners had made some major renovations to the interior space.
“To have them already done that, it feels like I hired an interior designer before I even knew it,” she said. “I love her style. She did the work and then I get to reap the benefits.”
Details on Kate Chastain’s backyard
Although she does not want to do too much to the inside, Kate has some big plans for her backyard, which has plenty of space for outdoor entertaining. But, it does not have a pool, so she might want to install one in the future.
“It’s got landscaping with the vines and you can’t buy that, so I’m just in love with it,” she said. “But there is a section where I’m thinking I would like to put in a plunge pool, because in Florida, especially, it’s very hot. And my dream home, it was always going to have a pool.”
Kate Chastain is excited to watch her son, Sullivan, grow up in her new house
Kate even has some plans for Sullivan’s bedroom. “I’m thinking probably like, red and blue stripes, kind of traditional,” she explained. “Charming, I guess.”
But most importantly, she is excited to see her son grow up in their forever home. “Especially now that Sullivan’s getting older, I’m really excited to do a little height chart on his door frame,” she said. “Cause I know we’re gonna be here for that many years to chart his growth, so that’s just really exciting and moving is exhausting so I’m happy to not be doing that for a long time.”
Kate Chastain reveals which Below Deck alum lives near her new house
In addition to being close to her BFF and her family members, Kate also happens to live super close to Below Deck Season 3 deckhand, Connie Arias, who is just a “golf cart ride away.” This means that Kate will also be getting a golf cart in the future, which is perfect for jetting around to her loved ones.
