#BreakingNews Below Deck Captain tragically passes away at 65 from heart disease πŸ’”πŸ™ in comment

Captain Mark Howard from Below Deck: Mediterranean died of natural causes back in October at his home in Florida.

The Bravo star died at age 65 and a medical examiner’s report obtained Monday by E! News listed his cause of death as hypertensive cardiovascular disease with chronic alcoholism listed as a contributory cause.

His manner of death was categorized as natural.

TMZ reported that Howard’s wife, Susan, was out of town attending a dog show from Oct. 22-27 when the incident took place. She found her husband dead upstairs upon arrival.

According to a police report obtained by the site, Howard ‘was covered in boxes that had apparently fallen, and his body was laying up against a shelf.’

Authorities said there was no sign of trauma but there were ‘blood droplets’ on his face and on the floor.

A biography for Howard from Bravo stated that he was born and raised on a lake in Michigan and had been a yacht captain for just under 30 years.

He was an experienced captain, having sailed to the South Pacific and the Mediterranean and Caribbean for luxurious trips as seen on the show.

Below Deck: Mediterranean launched in 2016 as a spinoff to the hugely popular reality series.

RIP: His friend and former co-star Hannah Ferrier paid her respects

Howard was unveiled as the Captain of the Ionian Princess yacht for the first season.

While the spinoff series was also a hit with viewers, Howard did not return for the second season.

Howard would end up being replaced by Captain Sandy Yawn who is still in the reality series.

Hannah Ferrier spoke about Howard in an interview with The Daily Dish in 2019 saying they would ‘touch base’ once a year after working together.
