Below Deck Sailing Yacht’s Captain Glenn Shephard Shocked Fans When He Officially Married His Girlfriend Danelis, Who Is 19 Years Younger Than Him

Love has officially dropped anchor!
Below Deck Sailing Yacht fan-favorite Captain Glenn Shephard has stunned fans around the world by confirming that he is officially married to his longtime girlfriend

Danelis, a stunning travel consultant who is 19 years younger than the beloved Bravo captain.

The wedding — described by guests as “romantic, intimate, and breathtakingly authentic” — took place over the weekend on the sun-soaked coast of Ibiza, where Glenn and Danelis exchanged vows aboard a luxury sailing yacht before a small group of close friends and family.

A Love Story Born at Sea

Captain Glenn, 62, has spent decades navigating superyachts across the Mediterranean and Caribbean, but even the seasoned sailor admits this journey took him by surprise.

He and Danelis reportedly met in 2022 at the Monaco Yacht Show, where she was coordinating private charters for an elite travel brand. The connection was instant — two ocean lovers from different worlds, drawn together by the same horizon.

“We started as friends, just talking about sailing and travel,” Glenn told YachtLife Weekly in an earlier interview. “Then one day, it just clicked — she became the person I wanted to share every sunset with.”

By early 2023, the pair had become inseparable, frequently spotted vacationing together across Europe. From strolling hand-in-hand through the cobbled streets of Palma de Mallorca to dining under the stars in Mykonos, their chemistry was undeniable — and fans quickly took notice.

A Surprise Engagement

In the summer of 2024, whispers of an engagement began circulating after Danelis was seen wearing a delicate diamond ring during a Mediterranean charter. At the time, Glenn laughed off the rumors, calling himself “married to the sea.”

But now, the captain’s joke has become reality.

“I guess I’ve finally found someone who can compete with the ocean,” Glenn said with a grin in his wedding announcement post.

The Wedding of the Season

The couple said “I do” aboard the Paragon, a 145-foot luxury sailing yacht that Glenn personally captained for part of the ceremony. The vessel, adorned with white orchids, gold lanterns, and soft pink roses, floated gently under the sunset as the couple exchanged handwritten vows.

Guests included a handful of former Below Deck cast members, close industry friends, and Glenn’s longtime Bravo colleagues.

“It was the most beautiful wedding I’ve ever seen,” one attendee shared. “It was simple but so full of love — no drama, no spectacle, just two people who truly adore each other.”

After the ceremony, guests were treated to a champagne dinner featuring fresh seafood, local Spanish delicacies, and a towering three-tier coconut wedding cake.

A Bride Who Stole the Show

Danelis looked ethereal in a custom off-shoulder silk gown designed by Barcelona couturier

Lucía Fernández, paired with delicate diamond earrings and a windswept updo. Glenn, known for his understated style, wore a crisp white linen suit with a navy pocket square — nautical, elegant, and timeless.

“She was glowing,” said a friend of the bride. “And Glenn couldn’t take his eyes off her. You could feel how deeply he loves her.”

The couple shared their first dance to

“Sail Away” by David Gray, as the yacht gently rocked in the moonlight.

Fans React: ‘Didn’t See This Coming!’

As soon as Glenn posted photos from the wedding on Instagram, the internet went wild. Fans flooded the comments with congratulations — and plenty of surprise.

“Captain Glenn got MARRIED?!? OMG congrats!!!” one user wrote.
“Age is just a number when you find your person,” another added.
“From the wheelhouse to the wedding aisle — love this for him!” a third fan joked.

Within hours, Below Deck castmates past and present joined in on the celebration.

Daisy Kelliher, Glenn’s longtime chief stew and fan-favorite, commented:

“I’m crying!!! Congrats Captain ❤️ You deserve every bit of happiness.”

Life After the Wedding

The newlyweds are currently honeymooning in Santorini, Greece, where they’ve been spotted enjoying wine tastings, local markets, and — of course — sunset sailing excursions.

Sources close to the couple say Glenn and Danelis plan to divide their time between Spain and the Caribbean, with Danelis reportedly joining Glenn for portions of his future charters.

“They want to build a life around what they love — travel, sailing, and connection,” said an insider. “They make each other better.”

A New Chapter for Captain Glenn

Known for his calm, grounded demeanor on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Glenn has always been a fan favorite — the steady hand guiding his often chaotic crew. His new marriage, fans say, feels like the perfect next chapter for the man who spent his life helping others find adventure on the water.

“He’s spent years helping people find their sea legs,” one fan wrote. “Now he’s found his anchor.” ⚓❤️

Congratulations to Captain Glenn and Danelis — may their love always have fair winds, calm seas, and endless sunsets. 🌅💍
