Gael and Nathan were both Deckhands on Below Deck Mediterranean season 9. Gael was in a relationship when she entered the season, but quickly developed feelings and a physical relationship with Nathan. This led Gael to breakup with her boyfriend and start a relationship with Nathan by the end of the season. However, they did break up after the season ended. Now, the Deckhands have revealed the status of their relationship.

Gael and Nathan are closer than ever and back in a relationship, as Gael has been in Nathan’s native Ireland. The pair have showcased their continued relationship through their Instagram Stories as they enjoyed an evening out together in Belfast. In one video taken by Nathan, a giddy Gael was smiling and trying a food item. In the other Story, Gael and Nathan posed for a selfie video, highlighting their closeness.

Two months ago on the Bravo‘s Below Deck Mediterranean Aftershow, Gael and Chief Stew Aesha Scott sat down together for an interview and so did Nathan and Lead Deckhand, Joe Bradley, separately. Gael and Nathan detailed their breakup after cameras stopped rolling. Nathan was in Europe after the show, and Gael was back in her native Australia, leading to distance and time zones being the driver of their breakup.

Gael said Nathan started talking to his ex-girlfriend again and stated that Nathan “ghosted” her. However, at the time of the interview, Nathan said he had not closed the book on him and Gael. It looks like Gael and Nathan were able to mend fences and overcome the challenge of distance that was plaguing them.
