Aesha Scott’s dazzling engagement ring from Scott “Scotty” Dobson has to be seen to be believed — and thankfully, the chief stew showcases the stunner of a rock in the above preview of the Below Deck Mediterranean Season 10 premiere (airing Monday, Sept. 29).
“Yes, I’m engaged,” Aesha tells producers in a confessional interview, adding that she’s “very excited” about walking down the aisle. “I am so grateful that I have Scott, because there are not many men that could handle me.”
The New Zealander also explains that now-married Captain Sandy Yawn might have inspired Scotty’s decision by proposing to Leah Shafer on the Season 9 finale. As she says to Sandy in her confessional, “Thank you very much.”
Aesha and Sandy’s reunion on the Below Deck Med Season 10 premiere marks their first time seeing one another since Scotty popped the question in May of last year, a move that “completely surprised” the yachtie in the best possible way.
The hidden meaning behind Aesha Scott’s engagement ring
Aesha teased her Instagram followers with a glimpse of her engagement ring in May 2024, a show-stopping piece by Iraqi New Zealander jewelry designer Layla Kaisi, according to her website. Scotty “began working in secret” with the bespoke jeweler in October 2023 to design a ring “that would celebrate their connection to date and set the scene for many incredible years to come.”
Explained Kaisi, “Scott was so thoughtful throughout the design experience. He cared deeply about creating a piece that truly symbolized Aesha and his love for everything that encompasses her.”
The result was a round-cut diamond held by six pointed claws, with a medley of seven accent diamonds asymmetrically surrounding the central gemstone. Each feature has a special meaning, Kaisi continued, including the 18-carat yellow band, which represents the soon-to-be groom, and a champagne-colored diamond to symbolize Aesha’s late brother. Other diamonds stand for more of Aesha’s loved ones, and “the central diamond represents Aesha herself and how she’s been moulded and surrounded by her family, supporting her to grow into the woman she is today.”
A hidden diamond, to represent Scotty’s birthstone, is set inside the band.
Aesha previously thanked her future hubby for “the most perfect, meaningful ring ever,” adding “I will cherish it forever, every time I look at my finger I think of all the thought that went into it […] I keep looking down at my finger and just squealing inside.”
When are Aesha Scott and Scotty Dobson getting married?
Aesha and Scotty initially planned on tying the knot in 2025, but after some consideration, they changed the date to March 7, 2026.
As Aesha explained on the Jan. 27 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, “I had a very busy year last year. We pushed it, and we’ve got a lot of American guests, so I want to give people time to save.”

On the debut season of Below Deck Down Under, Aesha spilled everything to know about her bartending beau.
“We actually went to high school together,” she said. “Scott was this super athletic hottie. Then fast-forward 10 years, he saw that I was spending a lot of time in the States, and so he reached out. And it was just, like, fireworks. He’s just such a good man.”
At the time, Scotty was staying in Colorado, and after exchanging messages back and forth via Instagram, Aesha had “the date of [her] dreams” before a two-week journey in Scotty’s converted ambulance. Described Aesha, “We started in snowy Colorado, where we snowmobiled way out back country to an old cabin, and we lit a fire and drank wine and played cards.”
