A Past Below Deck Down Under Charter Guest Is Causing a Stir on Below Deck Med: “Scared Already”
Aesha Scott got a blast from the past when a primary guest from down under with “specific” tastes and preferences boarded Bravado in Below Deck Mediterranean.
hen chief stew Aesha Scott discovered the primary guest for the second charter of Below Deck Mediterranean Season 10 was a familiar face from her days on Below Deck Down Under, she was a bit weary.
Captain Sandy Yawn described Jack Freeman as a “prominent Sydney socialite,” and chef Josh Bingham immediately asked Aesha, “How is he?” Aesha carefully admitted, “A little bit specific.”
“Upon arrival, Jack would like the stews to unpack for him,” Aesha announced to her stews, Kizzi Kitchener and Victoria “V” SanJuan, in Episode 3.
The rest of the crew quickly learned more of Jack’s requests for the charter, including “water toys” and “wave runners.”
“For dinner, white party…[and a] truffle-focused menu,” Josh read off the preference sheet, and said with enthusiasm, “Let’s go!”
But in his confessional, Josh worried there were pitfalls to using the ingredient. “With truffles, you have to put them with stuff that really works with them, or they can taste kind of flat,” he admitted. He later added, “Truffles are a luxury ingredient, but when you actually think about the truffle, it is off the street. It’s from the ground. It’s from the dirt.”
Josh learned the guests also requested a six or eight-course tasting menu for dinner on the second night, and worried the lavish requests wouldn’t end there.
“For eight courses, every single dish is a lot of little things done well,” Josh explained with trepidation. “So, there’s a lot of work that’s needed for each dinner. Huge amounts.”
As Jack and his charter guests boarded Bravado in the Oct. 13 episode, Josh declared, “I’m scared already.”
