Andrew Walker and Ashley Williams Launch Alzheimer’s Awareness Cruise
Hallmark actors Andrew Walker and Ashley Williams are turning personal loss into advocacy by organizing a cruise designed to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s research.
Both actors lost their mothers to the disease—Williams’ mother Linda in 2016 and Walker’s mother Joyce in 2023. Their shared experience inspired the idea for a charitable event that combines the Hallmark fan community with fundraising efforts supporting Alzheimer’s research.
The two previously appeared together in the 2024 holiday film Jingle Bell Run, and their collaboration has continued off screen through philanthropic work tied to the cause.
Cruise for a Cure Event
The initiative, called Cruise for a Cure, is scheduled for January 4–8, 2027 aboard the Celebrity Reflection.
The cruise will depart from Fort Lauderdale and travel to Key West and Bimini. Approximately 200 fans are expected to participate, with proceeds supporting the Alzheimer’s Association and research initiatives focused on treatment and prevention.
A Broader Hallmark Effort
The campaign also connects with ongoing fundraising activities supported by fellow Hallmark actors. Nikki DeLoach and Kimberly Williams-Paisley have been active in the Dance Party to End ALZ, a long running event that raises money for Alzheimer’s research.
Walker has participated in the initiative alongside them, expanding awareness efforts within the Hallmark fan community.
Turning Personal Loss Into Advocacy
Walker and Williams say the goal of the cruise is not only to raise funds but also to build community among families affected by Alzheimer’s disease.
The event will include fan activities, discussions about research, and fundraising events, all aimed at supporting ongoing scientific work to better understand and treat the disease.
For the two actors, the mission reflects how shared grief can evolve into collective action—bringing fans together around a cause that affects millions of families worldwide.
