Prince William’s Cheeky Response To Prince Louis’s Innocent Query Sent Royal Fans Go Wild
The Princess of Wales’ return to public life after her cancer diagnosis earlier in the year was met with widespread admiration. Her choice of attire, particularly the small beret-style hat, was interpreted by experts as a signal of strength and confidence, reflecting her resilience and commitment to her royal duties.
You may have thought the focus of Christmas Day at Sandringham would have been the Princess of Wales herself or one of the many senior Royals of the firm who hold prominent positions within the family. But for us, at least, it was Prince Louis who stole the show during the outing.
The couple’s youngest child couldn’t contain his excitement as he received dozens of flowers, including a box of Cadbury chocolates, Christmas crackers, bouquets of flowers, and an assortment of stuffed toys from well-wishers. One from the crowd offered him a Father Christmas headband, which the little prince happily accepted and politely thanked the person who gifted it. He then returned to his father and siblings.
Prince William, who was also enthusiastically greeting members of the public, appeared amused by his son Louis’ haul of goodies and told him, “You’ve got that as well!” In fact, the prince and princess of Wales’ child’s hands were so full of presents that he appeared to struggle to keep hold of everything he’d received. He turned to his father and sweetly asked, “Papa, can you carry some?”
Louis’ sweet request sent royal fans wild, with many showing love to the young boy for his innocence. At other points in the walkabout, Louis gripped his mother’s hand, and Catherine ruffled her youngest son’s hair, at one point encouraging him to mingle with well-wishers. She also put a reassuring hand on his shoulder. As seen in a separate clip, the prince was spotted telling his mother that “we’re looking out for each other.”
The three young royals stood beside their father William as they waited for her to finish chatting. Many endearing interactions like this highlighted the family’s close bond and sort of saved the whole event by adding a touch of levity to the day’s proceedings.
The royals are incredibly quick to pick up on boredom or discontent when near crowds or in front of the cameras. It may seem off-putting to hear, but it’s almost as if William and Catherine picked up on this and dragged over the cute kids to shift the mood immediately. As his three kids excitedly grabbed treats from the crowd assembled, Prince William exclaimed, “Flowers for Charlotte, chocolates for George, and Louis, very easy!”
For the second year in a row, Louis wore trousers on Christmas Day walkabouts. Although reports suggest that royal tradition usually dictates that boys under seven must wear shorts to attend public engagements, it appears his parents are taking a more relaxed approach to protocol.
The outlet reported it’s been a difficult year for George, Charlotte, and Louis, one that saw both their mother and their grandfather diagnosed with cancer. It’s been such a challenging year for them; it’s wonderful to see them all together.
The three Wales children were rarely seen in public in 2024, making sparse appearances at events like June’s Trooping the Colour, September’s video message from the Princess of Wales announcing that she had completed treatment, and December 6th’s Together at Christmas Carol concert at Westminster Abbey.

Yet it wasn’t just her outfit that left an indelible impression; it was her emotional confession about her battle with cancer that moved fans around the globe. But despite the cheerful façade, the absence of certain family members underscored the ongoing challenges within the royal household.
The decision by Harry and Meghan to remain in the United States, coupled with Andrew’s non-attendance due to recent controversies, suggests a family grappling with internal discord. It is believed the palace snubbed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex by not sending an invite to Sandringham. The Duke of York’s Chinese spy escapade reportedly led to Sarah Ferguson convincing the stubborn prince to stay home with her at the Royal Lodge.
