Kate Middleton has felt the support for her amid her cancer diagnosis and treatment, especially from her husband, Prince William.
The royal couple braved the rain during their visit to Pontypridd, Wales, on Feb. 27 to meet well-wishers who had gathered for a chance to say hello. Prince William, 42, and Princess Kate, 43, shook hands, accepted small gifts and had brief chats with a number of fans while holding umbrellas.
In a video taken by Ellie Flockton and shared by fan accounts, Kate seemed to briefly address her cancer diagnosis and treatment. The royal, who announced in January that she was in remission, smiled and called her husband “amazing” throughout the ordeal in the candid moment.
Personally, if Prince William and Princess Kate want to have some alone time after the enormously taxing year they just endured – 2024 was not a year they would want in their books – who am I to say no?

Prince William and Princess Kate Travel To a Private Island For Family Getaway
The Prince and Princess of Wales are enjoying some winter sunshine at the private island of Mustique with their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
For the first time in three years, the couple decided to sit out the BAFTAs ceremony, even though William is the President of the British Academy of Film and Television. We love award shows don’t we, but who can say no to a private retreat with your loved ones?
For the holiday, William and his family flew out from London to Saint Lucia on a British Airways flight, before switching to a private flight that took them to Mustique. For them to have done this, some royal rules would have had to be broken. What are they, you say?
Well, it’s forbidden for heirs to travel on the same flight together in the case of an accident or a plane crash. And while no one would ever and should ever dream of such a thing happening, let’s be honest most people wouldn’t want controversial and divisive Harry as King.
This means that Prince George would have likely been separated from his younger siblings if this protocol had come into play.
In the event that they really want to travel together as a family, they would need express permission from the ruling monarch.
In the past, this permission uses to granted by Queen Elizabeth the II, but following her death on September 8, this mantle has been passed on to King Charles.
Should he refuse to let the Waleses fly together as a family, doing otherwise would mean the breaking of a very important royal tradition. A royal tradition William is all too familiar with, having been kept from flying with the rest of the family once he clocked 12.

The Princess of Wales added, “We’ve felt the support from everyone, so it’s meant a lot.”
William and Kate’s bond was displayed later in the day in a rare moment of P.D.A. In a video shared on their social media pages, the pair held hands as they made their way through the train station to head home after their day in Wales.
Prince William’s support for his wife was strong behind the scenes before she even publicly revealed her cancer diagnosis last year. In February 2024, the Prince of Wales pulled out of a service honoring his godfather King Constantine of Greece at the last minute. It was later revealed that the decision was due to Princess Kate’s cancer diagnosis, which was publicly revealed the following month.
In her video announcement about her health news released on March 22, 2024, Kate expressed her gratitude to William.
“Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too,” she said. “As is the love, support and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both.”
