King Charles Gives ‘Deeply Heartbreaking’ Cancer Update
King Charles has given a ‘deeply heartbreaking’ cancer update.
The 76-year-old has described ‘deeply personal’ words about his illness 15 months after his initial diagnosis.
Fellow cancer survivors were invited to Buckingham Palace on 30th April to celebrate the amazing work of community-run cancer organisations.
Charles wrote a heartwarming message, which thanks those who ‘selflessly’ work to provide care and comfort to the 390k people who are diagnosed with cancer in the UK each year.
‘Each diagnosis, each new case, will be a daunting and at times frightening experience for those individuals and their loved ones,’ he wrote.
As one among those statistics myself, I can vouch for the fact that it can also be an experience that brings into sharp focus the very best of humanity,’ he writes.
‘It has certainly given me an even deeper appreciation of the extraordinary work undertaken by the remarkable organisations and individuals gathered here this evening, many of whom I have known, visited and supported over the years.
‘And it has reinforced what I have long observed during these visits – that the darkest moments of illness can be illuminated by the greatest compassion.’
He added ‘You have my whole family’s deepest admiration and gratitude.’
The King was diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer in January 2024 after surgery for an enlarged prostate.
His aides shared that his recovery is going in a ‘very positive direction, as reflected with the very full national and international diary programme’ he is currently receiving.
In case you’re wondering, yes, King Charles has been known to be naughty from time to time. One of those times was so remarkable that Queen Camilla decided to leave the room for him. Royal squabbles, amiright?
King Charles Made This Statement About A “Woman’s Legs”
No matter how polished and perfect a marriage may seem to the outside world, odds are there are days when there will be fighting feats between the couple. Doesn’t mean love isn’t there, but it’s natural to let loose from time to time.
Through their many years in the spotlight, King Charles and Queen Camilla has managed to give us the semblance of a calm and functional relationship. It’s especially remarkable that they should given that the whole world was against their love story when they finally tied the knot in 2005.
But let’s face it, no matter how well you know your spouse, they’re bound to say something that could tick you off from time to time. Everything depends on the sort of mood you’re in for the situation, I suppose.
According to actress Carli Norris, King Charles – then Prince Charles – made a “sexy” statement after meeting her for the first time.
After watching her and her co-stars perform in ‘The Chiltern Hundreds in the West End,’ he proudly congratulated the actress, who is also known for starring in such TV soaps as ‘EastEnders’ and Doctors on the BBC, on her performance, adding, “You’ve got very sexy legs.”
Carli said: “Prince Charles was walking around, introducing himself to everybody and he came up to me and he shook my hand and he went ‘You’ve got very sexy legs’. I went ‘oh thank you, your highness’.”
Talking about the dinner afterwards, Carli recalled: “Apparently, Prince Charles was going on and on about my legs so much that eventually Camilla slapped her knife and fork down and said ‘oh for goodness sake, Chas, will you stop going on about that gal’s legs?!’ She left the room and stormed out.”
The actress did admit that she was not a witness to this rather delicate royal drama since she was not at the dinner table. She only found out from her co-star Edward.
