Reports that King Charles and Queen Camilla are planning a royal visit to the USA to meet Donald Trump next year have been played down by palace sources.

Claims were made that preparations for a trip across the Atlantic to meet the new president in 2026 were already underway in a bid to avoid a trade war.

However, sources has suggested the US is not on the royal calendar for the foreseeable future and any journey of that distance would depend on Charles’s health. The King, 76, is still undergoing treatment for cancer and defied doctor’s orders to take part in an 11-day trip to Australia and Samoa last year, the Scottish Daily Express reports.

The gruelling visit left Queen Camilla, 77, fighting a nasty bout of pneumonia. Charles also alluded to his own mortality on the trip, telling a summit of Commonwealth leader that he “hope(s) that I survive long enough to come back”, a comment that seemingly moved his wife to tears.

However, Charles is determined to return to a ‘normal’ royal schedule in 2025 although visits need to be approved by the British government. A source told the Daily Beast there had been “no formal invitation” from Washington.

They added: “…beyond the usual position that there remains, as ever, a willingness to travel when and where required subject to the normal process and diary prioritization review-none of which has been undertaken, still less approved, for 2026.” There is no suggestion that Charles’s cancer treatment is not working or that the King’s health is deteriorating.

And last week, he even made a secret trip to the ballet after travelling to Cornwall. The Daily Beast reported a source saying he had stayed for the whole show and spent time speaking with the crew afterwards. Giving the public a rare update on the King, the insider said Charles “seemed to be in perfect health”.

It’s also been noted that it comes days after King Charles took part in pre-Ramadan events whilst packing dates for Iftar.

A lot of people praised King Charles for the kind gesture and compared him to Meghan Markle, who just debuted a show that apparently she’s made all about her.

In fact, a lot of people also pointed out that Meghan Markle left the royal family because she wanted to do things on her own terms.

But instead of making a difference in the world, she’s spreading jam on bread and selling it in malls across America. Talk about a major fall from grace, right?
