Well, I think to be honest, I wouldn’t believe everything you read in the paper, but uh, you know, in that particular instance, um, we did split up for a bit, but that was just, you know, we were both very young.

Just recently, Catherine, Princess of Wales, has broken her silence following a rumored divorce from Prince William. The former royal couple had once seemed inseparable, but after whispers of infidelity and rumors of a rift, the famous royal couple had finally called it quits. Could there be any truth to this?

Catherine was a commoner who fell in love with a prince. The Prince and Princess of Wales have been married for well over a decade, but we still can’t help but reminisce on their gorgeous wedding.

The Wales have faced numerous challenges in recent years—battling health concerns, family scandals, and brutal conspiracy theories. They have already had to navigate the breakdown of their relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the turbulence of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the losses of Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth.

The last five years have been a nightmare for them in every possible way. The past year, even more so. That either crushes a marriage or brings them together, adding that their unity comes at a time when stability is crucial for the monarchy.

One year after Catherine’s diagnosis, there is definitely a feeling of resetting the dial—of being back. Fast forward, and what a difference a year makes. She’s even more beloved in the nation’s hearts than she was before.

Catherine’s parents, Carole and Michael, have been a huge emotional and practical support for the Wales family. While they have rarely spoken publicly about their daughter since she married William in April 2011, they are known to have an incredibly close bond.

There was a moment shortly after Michael Middleton walked her down the aisle that William and Michael shared a bit of a silly moment. With so many people watching, William decided to whisper a joke to the man who was about to be his father-in-law.

On William and Catherine’s wedding day, as Michael was about to give his daughter away, William looked at him and joked, “We’re supposed to have just a small family affair.” Of course, it likely eased the nerves of the moment, as nearly 2,000 people filled Westminster Abbey to watch the royal wedding. Thousands of people took to the streets to celebrate the couple, and millions of people watched on television. Needless to say, it was anything but a small family affair.

Of course, it was the biggest royal event to occur in decades, so it’s no surprise that it pulled such a massive viewership. Shedding light on their sweet post-ceremony interaction, Prince William had a surprising three-word comment to his new bride in the carriage procession through the streets of London on their way to Buckingham Palace.

Amid the chaos of the cheering crowds, William couldn’t tear his eyes away from his wife, telling her, “You look happy.” She reportedly replied, “Yes. Are you happy?” And he said, “Yes. Very.”

These were not the first words that came to mind in the carriage, however. William also reportedly noted the mad atmosphere of the day and gave the princess tips on royal etiquette. “I don’t think you should bow quite yet. I think you should just bow your head, okay?” he said, before adding, “I hope I remember. It’s mad. It’s mad. Oh my goodness, it’s really loud here.”

William and Catherine are known for their passion for sports and the organizations they hold patronage over, particularly rugby. As the Prince of Wales, William is a staunch supporter of the Welsh rugby team, and as the patron of English rugby, Catherine is known for supporting the Red Roses.

The Prince and Princess of Wales have long been celebrated for their shared passion for sports—a trait that strengthens their bond and draws fascination to their public personas. This dynamic was on full display during the 2025 Six Nations rugby match between England and Wales at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, where their friendly rivalry took center stage.
