Captain Jason Chambers Reveals If He’s Still Single (EXCLUSIVE)
The Below Deck Down Under captain opened up about his experience dating as a single father: “I’m starting to realize…”
After making his Bravo debut in 2022, Jason Chambers quickly became one of reality TV’s most eligible bachelors. This became more evident during BravoCon 2023, where single women from various franchises expressed interest in the Below Deck Down Under captain.
Jason was a good sport about all the attention, as he wasn’t romantically involved at the time. But, as we all know, a lot can change within a year, which led us to wonder: Is Captain Jason still single? He clarified his relationship status during a recent interview with The Daily Dish.
“I’m still single,” he confirmed before referencing his young daughter, Saskia. “I don’t think the time has ever been right. I needed to give a lot of time to my daughter over the last few years.”
Captain Jason explains why he put a “pause” on his romantic life
Although he’s still very much single, Captain Jason isn’t yet ready to mingle — the operative word being “yet.”
“The relationships I have had have been long, and they probably shouldn’t have lasted that long,” he explained. “I’m starting to realize why I’ve gone into those relationships. I’m probably trying to create something but not be 100 percent myself. So, I have put a pause on dating for quite some time because I haven’t had the time to bring someone else into my daughter’s [life].”
Captain Jason suspects he’ll start dating soon
So, when does Captain Jason expect to re-enter the dating scene? He admittedly doesn’t have an answer but said it could happen sometime this year.
“I think 2025 is time to get some stability, find out where I’m going to be based, get my career going, and then it’s right to bring someone else in,” he explained. “So yeah, 2025 will be the year that I will get these other things done and then, hopefully, I can meet someone and I’m ready. I wasn’t ready before and I thought I was when I had a child, but then I realized I wasn’t… It was just all about my child. Now I had to put that on pause again, and now I’m getting all this ready to hopefully meet someone for 2025.”

You can catch Captain Jason in Below Deck Down Under Season 3, which premieres Monday, February 3 on Bravo. He will be joined by returning cast members Chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph and deckhand Harry Van Vliet, as well as newbies Lara Rigby, Wihan Du Toit, Johnny Arvanitis, Adair Werley, Brianna Duffield, Marina Marcondes de Barros, and Anthony Bird.
