Captain Jason Chambers Reveals How He Spends His Off Time with His Daughter (EXCLUSIVE)
When the Below Deck Down Under captain isn’t sailing around the world, he is devoting his life to his daughter.
Captain Jason Chambers is no stranger to working hard as the leader on Below Deck Down Under. But, when he isn’t sailing all around the world, Jason is living his life on land and devoting his time to his daughter, Saskia, and charitable causes near and dear to his heart.

Jason spoke with The Daily Dish in February, where he revealed that his off-season will be spent hanging out with his daughter. “I didn’t see my daughter for a year and a half so, I use this new pathway to just spend time with her,” he said. This can already be seen on Jason’s Instagram account, where he frequently posts photos and videos of him and Saskia, traveling to different locations.
Captain Jason opens up about his charity work
But he will also be devoting his time in the off-season to his philanthropic efforts, like, “rebuilding schools in Indonesia.”
“I’m working with ocean conservation charities and we rebuild schools out of plastic waste,” he continued. “The Classroom of Hope, who I work with, they’ve rebuilt a hundred schools. I’ve actually raised enough money through the foundation and through my platform to rebuild two schools now. And that’s a big thing, and I just focus on that going forward.”
However, he doesn’t do all of this alone. Jason revealed that he even takes Saskia along with him on these excursions. “Last month I took her right up in North Bali and we worked with a charity that gives rice to the elderly and the disabled that can’t afford rice,” he said. “And there’s another charity that teaches English to kids after school. So there’s little things like that I work on. That’s me.”
Where does Captain Jason live?
No, he doesn’t live on a yacht year round. Jason told The Daily Dish that Saskia lives in Bali, where there are “great schools.” So he is looking to find a permanent location nearby. “I think Indonesia and the Philippines, are my locations,” he elaborated. “So I’ll find a base there to be closer to my daughter. And then once I have my own thing going, I can actually spread my wings.”
Captain Jason is launching a unisex fragrance
Additionally, Jason is also going to be launching his own unisex fragrance, Captain J, due out sometime this year. The scent is inspired by his work as a yacht captain and all of the different places that he visits. “It’s got that boat feel that you’re on a boat, and you can smell the rope and you can see the ocean,” he said. “But it’s also the sand in your feet.”
Jason has spent a long time developing the scent with a team in Australia. “It’s developed out of Australia now through a small family business and then through a company that actually employs kids straight out of school,” he added. “So every element has something that I am close to and fond of.”
