Below Deck Sailing Yacht: 4 Cast Members Who Shouldn’t Return In Season 6 (And 4 Who Can Replace Them)
Below Deck Sailing Yacht: 4 Cast Members Who Shouldn’t Return In Season 6 (And 4 Who Can Replace Them)
Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 is wrapping up, and it’s time to say goodbye to some cast members if season 6 will succeed. Captain Glenn Shephard is at his wit’s end after allowing Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher, First Mate Gary King, Deckhand Keith Allen, and Deckhand Chase Lemacks to go out with the high-maintenance charter guests. After giving them a two-drink limit, only Chase returned and adhered to the rules. AsBelow Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 comes to a close, it’s time to re-evaluate casting.
The Below Deck Sailing Yacht cast has been struggling all season. Daisy’s whiny stews, Danni Warren and Diana Cruz, continuously complain and cause trouble. Deckhand Emma Crouch had to be fired mid-season for her laziness and incompetence, replaced by Chase, with whom Gary has a lukewarm relationship. It’s time for Below Deck Sailing Yacht to get serious about casting if the Bravo spin-off wants to survive.
Diana was dragged down by Danni in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5, but she was still a bad Stew of her own accord. Daisy made the mistake of assuming her Stews in season 5 would do well without rank, but instead, they constantly bickered and complained about the amount of work they were each doing. Both Diana and Danni hated cleaning the cabins and bathrooms, preferring to work the more glamorous jobs of bartending and table setting. Unfortunately, neither of them knew how to make a drink.
Diana threw a fit when Daisy suggested a bartending exercise for the Stews, refusing to serve her fellow crew members to improve her skills. She also got huffy with Danni because she flirted, thus ruining her chances with Chase, the new Deckhand on board. Diana isn’t a terrible Stew but she’s too whiny to remain in season 6.
Despite having just over two years of yachting experience, Mads Herrera’s enthusiasm and thrill-seeking nature made her a standout addition to the team on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4. She should return to replace Diana in season 6. During her tenure on the show, Mads was involved in a casual romantic relationship with Gary, who can’t help himself when it comes to boatmances.
Gary appeared to have deeper feelings for Mads, but she insisted their relationship was confined to just hooking up. Mads was a solid worker aboard the Parsifal III, well-liked by almost everyone onboard. She continues to seek adventure, and she could be up for a return as a Stew on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 6. Mads would be a welcome replacement for Diana or Danni.
6Out: Danni Warren
Below Deck Sailing Yacht
Danni getting replaced on Below Deck Sailing Yacht is a necessity. Like her coworker, Diana, she complains about doing her job every day. She seems to think she’s above certain tasks and eschews Daisy’s orders as her boss. Danni thinks Daisy is threatened by her, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Daisy thinks Danni is lazy and entitled, and her actions throughout Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 seem to prove Daisy’s point.
Danni is a liability on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, and while she became a solid foil for Daisy, it’s time for her to go.
Furthermore, Danni’s onboard behavior is a liability. She began the season trying to seduce Keith, who was made uncomfortable by her brazen flirting. Danni and Gary drunkenly kissed in the ocean, and when he laid down boundaries with Danni, she hooked up with one of the workers at the beach club. Finally, she seduced Chase, and the two started a boatmance that greatly upset Diana. Danni is just too dramatic.
5In: Paris Field
Below Deck
Paris Field saved the day on Below Deck season 11, and she can save the cast on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 6 as well. She was brought in late in the season to fill out the crew of Chief Stew Fraser Olender, Second Stew Xandi Olivier, and Third Stew Barbie Pascual. Barbie’s relative incompetence and difficult relationship with her superiors made Paris’ arrival especially vital to the crew’s success.
While Paris didn’t always get along with the Chef, she quickly proved herself to be a hardworking, fun, and intelligent Stew. She likes stirring the pot, but she isn’t a dumpster fire waiting to explode like Danni. Paris should join the crew on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 6 instead of stepping in on Below Deck. The Parsifal III needs her more. Plus, Chef Cloyce Martin likes a Stew he can fight with, and Paris could fit the bill.
4Out: Daisy Kelliher
Below Deck Sailing Yacht
Sadly, it’s time for Daisy to go. Producers wanted to make her look bad on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 as a way of pushing her out and making way for the next Chief Stew. While that hasn’t been confirmed, it seems the show is wrapping up her storylines. All the men onboard the Parsifal III, save for Captain Glenn and Chase, have expressed interest in Daisy. She finally turned Gary down, telling him he needed to grow up and that she wouldn’t put herself through the emotional turmoil of being with him.

Furthermore, Daisy froze her eggs recently and seems ready to move on from the Below Deck Sailing Yacht universe. She’ll always be a yachtie and one of the best Chief Stews ever, but Danni and Diana wore her out. Daisy definitely made the most of her Bravo tenure, but it’s clear she’s tired.
It would be tough for anyone to replace Daisy on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, but Below Deck Mediterranean season 7’s Chief Stew Natasha Webb could be up for the task. Before joining the show, she and Chef Dave White had a relationship that they initially kept secret from the rest of the crew. This concealed relationship led to tension on board, especially as Natasha attempted to distance herself from Chef Dave, resulting in open conflict, as detailed by Natasha on Watch What Happens Live.
Daisy, for her part, isn’t a big fan of Natasha’s, saying her leadership “missed the mark” due to her favoritism of Kyle Viljoen and contentious relationship with Stew Natalya Scudder. However, she deserves another chance to prove her skills, so long as Kyle and Chef Dave are nowhere to be found. She and Chef Cloyce might get on pretty well.
Out: Gary King
Below Deck Sailing Yacht
- Gary should’ve been fired from Below Deck Sailing Yacht for years of bad behavior, but it’s finally time to kick him to the curb for season 6. While Gary is undoubtedly good at his job, his alcohol misuse makes him a liability. Former Bravo employee Samantha Suarez accused him of sexual misconduct on set during filming for season 4. Bravo uninvited him from BravoCon 2023, but he was still heavily featured in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 and denied all allegations.
Gary has publicly stayed fairly quiet about his issues with alcohol, and his alleged misuse or abuse hasn’t been confirmed by the star.
Gary tried to stay sober during Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5, but it barely lasted one charter. After Daisy started hooking up with Keith, he turned to alcohol once more, consuming ten drinks with the charter guests, way more than Captain Glenn’s limit of two. Gary is entertaining, charming, and skilled, but he needs to distance himself from yachting and face his alcohol misuse.
Malia White could easily step in for Gary on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, but it’s unclear if she would want to. She began her journey on the show as a deckhand in season 2 and advanced to the role of bosun in seasons 5 and 6. In January 2023, Malia achieved the certification of Officer of the Watch, marking a notable progression in her maritime career. Captain Sandy Yawn elevated Malia’s standing as well because of wanting to celebrate women in the yachting industry.
It would say a lot for Below Deck Sailing Yacht to replace noted misogynist Gary with Malia as First Mate. He has terrorized women onboard the Parsifal III for five seasons now because of his insecurities and issues with alcohol. While Malia was under fire for her handling of the issues with Hannah Ferrier’s undisclosed drugs onboard, she’d still be the right person to fill in for Gary, should she be willing to return.
