Below Deck Down Under season 3 is coming soon, but the series has a brand-new location that’s been confusing fans who are excited for the typically Australian show. Although Below Deck viewers are likely still watching Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5, there’s only a few weeks left until the premiere of Below Deck Down Under season 3. While many have been worried about the future of the Aussie iteration from the famous franchise, Below Deck Down Under appears like it’s going to embrace a season of change. After losing Chief Stew Aesha Scott, other things began to change quickly.

In the fallout of Below Deck Down Under season 2’s sexual harassment scandal, wherein deckhand Luke Jones assaulted stew Margot Sisson until Aesha broke things up, it wasn’t clear that the series would return for a third season. After it was announced that Aesha would be returning to Below Deck Mediterranean as Chief Stew, many felt Below Deck Down Under was done, but Captain Jason Chambers squelched rumors that the show was over. With Below Deck Down Under returning for another season with new crew members, the series will also be chartering through a new location, confusing some returning viewers.

The Charter Season Will Still Sail The Indian Ocean

Although Below Deck Down Under season 3 is only a few weeks away, viewers have already started getting a taste of the content from Bravo and their social media presence. Despite knowing that the series typically charters its superyachts around the coast of Australia, Below Deck Down Under season 3 will be taking its charter season to Seychelles. The east African country is a tropical paradise with crystal blue waters that Below Deck viewers will be floored to see, but its not the typical location for the series to sail.

While Seychelles is a new locale for Below Deck Down Under to tackle, the charter season will still see the crew sailing through the Indian Ocean, albeit on the other side. Sailing off the coast of Africa should be exciting for viewers, who have gotten used to the scenery of Below Deck Down Under in past seasons. While the series will look a bit different this year, Below Deck Down Under season 3 appears like it will be ready to deliver.

Although past seasons of have been filmed throughout the coast of Australia, Below Deck Down Under season 3 is making some major changes. Though the ocean the Below Deck Down Under crew will be sailing through will be the same, the waters will be a bit different off the coast of Seychelles. The excursions that guests may take throughout the season could look a bit different, as well, but diversifying the show’s locations could be a great step forward for Below Deck Down UnderChange is necessary to keep the series moving forward.

Only Time Will Tell For BDDU’s Future

While some may be disappointed not to see the same locations as a part of Below Deck Down Under season 3, moving to Seychelles could be a great shift for the series. As things change aboard the superyacht with the crew, the location of the charter season could just be another exciting addition to the show. Although some things will stay the same, like Captain Jason heading the crew with a firm but casual leadership style, Below Deck Down Under was due for some change after a tough couple seasons for the franchise’s youngest show.
