Todd Chrisley Unfiltered: Sex, Prison, and Julie’s “Disastrous” Natural Hair

The “Chrisley Knows Best” patriarch didn’t hold back in the latest episode of ‘Back to Reality,’ revealing his blunt first thoughts upon reuniting with wife Julie after their 28-month prison stint.
Todd Chrisley is back, and he’s just as candid—and controversial—as ever.
In the penultimate episode of the debut season of The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, the reality TV mogul laid it all bare when asked what was racing through his mind the moment he knew he’d finally be reunited with his wife, Julie Chrisley.

His answer? Short, dry, and classic Todd: “Sex.”
“I’m Not Going to Sit Here and Lie”
After 28 months behind bars, Todd made it clear that romance was the priority, even if Julie wasn’t entirely on the same page. “I’m not going to sit here and lie,” Todd told producers as Julie shook her head beside him.

In a typical display of his quick-witted (and occasionally biting) humor, Todd even attempted to narrate Julie’s internal monologue: “Oh my God, I’m going to have to have sex with him for four minutes.”
A Hair-Raising Reunion
However, the “honeymoon phase” hit a temporary snag when Todd laid eyes on Julie’s prison transformation. Gone was the signature Southern Belle blonde; in its place was a natural brunette and gray look that Julie had grown out during her sentence.
Todd’s reaction was anything but subtle. He admitted that seeing her new look made him feel like he had “just been dipped in dung,” jokingly suggesting that his physical desires had to be put on hold… for at least ten minutes.
“It proves you can’t trust a gay hairdresser,” Todd quipped, blaming Julie’s stylist, Tyler Bishop, for advising her to keep the natural color. “Find yourself a Baptist hairdresser.”
From Gray to Gold
The hair drama wasn’t just a one-time joke. In a recent episode of the Chrisley Confessions 2.0 podcast, Todd confessed the shock was so great he “started thinking about going back” to prison.
“Julie, it’s been 30 years, I’ve never seen you with dark hair,” he remarked, adding that she had “set the bar so low” with the prison look that there was “nowhere to go but up.”

Despite the harsh critiques, Julie seemed to take the jabs in stride, acknowledging she knew her husband would “kill her” for the gray hair. True to form, the reality star returned to her trademark blonde locks within weeks of her release.
A Presidential Turn of Events
The couple’s return to the spotlight comes after a tumultuous legal battle. The Chrisleys were convicted in June 2022 on multiple counts, including bank fraud and tax evasion.

After beginning their sentences on January 17, 2023, the pair saw a dramatic shift in fortune on May 28, 2025, when they were granted a full pardon by President Donald Trump. Now, with their freedom restored and Julie’s blonde hair back in place, the Chrisleys are proving that prison hasn’t changed their penchant for headlines.
