The family rose to fame after the premiere of their first reality series, Chrisley Knows Best. The series, which ran from 2014 to 2023, chronicled the day-to-day life of Todd Chrisley, a real-estate developer, his wife Julie, and their children Savannah, Chase, Grayson, Lindsie, Kyle and Chloe. In 2023, the family’s empire came crashing down when Todd and Julie were imprisoned for charges relating to tax and bank fraud, but earlier this year, they were pardoned by President Donald Trump. Is ‘The Chrisleys: Back to Reality’ coming back for Season 2?
After the recent finale of the Lifetime reality series, many were left wondering if the show would be returning for a second season, where Todd and Julie’s life post-prison will continue to unfold. While there’s been no official renewal, Todd gave fans a glimpse of hope during an appearance on The Tamron Hall Show. When talking about whether or not they joined the new reality show for money, Todd cleared the air, stating that that wasn’t why they took part.
It will continue, it’s going to get picked back up
“We only did two episodes, so no, it was not for the money,” Todd shared. “There needed to be closure for the tail end of this documentary.” He continued that while he might not have plans for the show to continue for several years, he believes, “It will continue, it’s going to get picked back up.”
What happened in the first season of ‘The Chrisleys: Back to Reality’?
In the debut season of the Chrisley family’s return to television, viewers got a glimpse at life both before and after Todd and Julie’s release. In the early episodes, fans at home got an up-close look at Savannah Chrisley as she took on the responsibility of raising her younger siblings, as well as fighting for her mother and father’s release. Meanwhile, the tension between her and her brother Chase was a major plot point throughout the season up until the very end. Chase’s own personal journey was also on display, specifically, that surrounding his pursuit of rehab for alcohol abuse. During the debut season, Savannah also dove deeper into the feud that exists between her parents and Todd’s daughter Lindsie, as well as the role she is said to play in their arrest.
Toward the end of the season, we got to see the moments leading up to Todd and Julie’s release, as well as the early moments of their lives back at home. Though viewers only saw the first glimpses into life after their release, here’s to hoping there’s a second season on the way, with questions answered and details revealed!
