Chase Chrisley Tried to Propose to Girlfriend Jodi, But She Shut Him Down for This Reason
Jodi Laine Fournerat is opening up about Chase Chrisley’s would-be proposal.
During a sit-down lunch with Nanny Faye Chrisley — Chase’s grandmother — in the season 1 finale of The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, Jodi shared that Chase recently tried to pop the question. But, since the timing and environment weren’t right, Jodi shut him down mid-proposal, she said.
Chase was in the shower when he told Jodi they needed to “talk” when he got out, which naturally spiked her nerves, she said. When he got out, Chase began a sort of speech about how much he loves her, and began to take something out of his pocket.

“I knew immediately, so I turned around so that I wouldn’t see the ring or anything, and I was like, ‘Chase, get up,’” she recalled to Nanny Faye. “And he’s like, literally just kneeling, right there, and he’s trying to continue with his little speech. And I’m like, ‘Chase, get up. We’re not doing this right here, we’re not doing this right now.’”
Chase then got “a little bit upset” until Jodi clarified she wasn’t turning him down, but rather the at-home setting.
“I didn’t say no because I don’t want to be proposed to by Chase, I just said no to the environment and the whole scenario,” Jodi later said in a confessional.
Nanny Faye supported Jodi’s choice to halt the proposal, noting Chase should take her out on a formal date to pop the question.
“I wish nothing but joy for Jodi and Chase,” Nanny Faye shared in a confessional. “I know it’s hard for people to believe, but I love both of them.”
Chase and Jodi have been together for roughly two years. A few months after announcing his split from his ex-fiancée Emmy Medders, Chase confirmed in November 2023 that he and Jodi had been together for a “a couple of months” via his representative.

News of Chase’s proposal attempt comes alongside his choice to check into a rehab facility to help him cope with his ongoing alcohol addiction was also revealed in the finale episode. Chase announced his sobriety journey earlier this year, following his arrest for alleged simple battery.
