Aesha Scott Goes from Girlfriend to Fiancée: Engagement Surprise in Paradise! 💍✨
Aesha Scott, star of Below Deck Mediterranean, is officially off the market! The 31-year-old has accepted a proposal from her boyfriend of four years, Scott “Scotty” Dobson. The engagement took place in the breathtaking Homunga Bay, New Zealand, a dream location for Aesha, who was blissfully surprised by the romantic gesture.
In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Aesha shared the heartfelt details of the proposal, highlighting how Scotty planned every detail, including a stunning custom engagement ring. Partnering with Layla Kaisi—Aesha’s favorite jewelry designer—Scotty crafted a ring featuring a round-cut diamond at its center surrounded by accent diamonds representing each of Aesha’s family members. Kaisi praised Scotty for his thoughtfulness in creating a piece that symbolizes their love.
The couple’s journey goes back to their high school days, but they only started dating nearly a decade later, officially confirming their relationship in 2020. Recently, they celebrated another milestone—buying their first home together. After a rollercoaster journey of five months filled with ups and downs, they finally found a place they both adore.
Reflecting on their relationship, Aesha expressed that they felt an immediate connection to their new home, stating, “We both felt at home the moment we walked in the door.” The couple had previously discussed their desire to settle down in New Zealand, moving on from their unique living situation in a converted ambulance. Aesha humorously noted that it was time to trade their buckets for actual toilets!
With their home and engagement behind them, Aesha and Scotty are well on their way to building a beautiful future together. 🏡❤️
Aesha Scott is getting married to fiancé, Scott “Scotty” Dobson, in the near future. But if the Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9 chief stew wasn’t getting married to him, she might have married her another “love” she came across during the season instead.
Shortly before the Below Deck Med Season 9 finale aired, Aesha took to her Instagram feed, where she posted 10 different photos, hanging out with her cast members (like Nathan Gallagher and Carrie O’Neill), standing aboard Mustique, dining near the water, and relaxing in her swimsuit. But the best photo from this series was the last one — a screen grab from Season 9 of Aesha, happily sticking her tongue out and eating noodles, which she proudly declared her love for (Watch out, Scott!).
Aesha wrote the sweetest message in the caption of the post and revealed that she really loved those noodles on the ship. “Whether you loved it or hated it, I wanted to say a huge sincere THANK YOU to everyone that took time to watch it,” she wrote. “The huge amount of hard work, lack of sleep, and endless hours that goes towards creating this show, both from cast and production, is so worth it when we know people are taking a load off after a busy day and relaxing to one of our episodes.”
She also thanked her friends, family, and loved ones, including Scott for supporting her throughout the season. “The love and support from friends, family, and you incredible humans out there is never unnoticed,” she added.
“P.S. If I wasn’t marrying Scott I’d be marrying my love in the last slide,” she declared, referring to the food.
Aesha Scott says Scott Dobson “quite possibly” has some competition
Aesha’s fellow Season 9 yachties took to the comments where they shared their support for her. But it was here, in the comments where Aesha revealed that Scotty “quite possibly” might need to be concerned about the competition between himself and the noodles.
Aesha also revealed in the comments that she is the “luckiest ducky ever” after one commenter pointed out that she “can marry Scott AND ramen noodles!!” Needless to say, it sounds like this is one thing in their relationship that Scotty will have to accept when he marries Aesha.
